DEA NATIONAL PRESCRIPTION DRUG TAKE BACK EVENT

No Registration Required, No Cost to Attend
Lake in the Hills residents can responsibly dispose of unwanted prescription drugs at this
fall's DEA National Prescription Drug Takeback Event. Bring your pharmaceutical pills and
liquids to the Police Department at 2600 Village Hall Drive from 10 am to 2 pm on
Saturday, Oct. 24.
The service is free and anonymous with no questions asked. Needles, sharps and illegal
drugs cannot be accepted. Pills, patches, vaping devices and cartridges are accepted,
including veterinary prescription drugs in pill or patch form.
Please note that devices containing lithium-ion batteries cannot be accepted, so remove
the batteries before turning a device in. If the battery cannot be removed, check with large
electronic chain stores or a local hazardous materials management facility to see if they will
accept the vape pen or e-cigarette device for proper disposal. Prior to drop off, be sure to
remove all labels or black them out with a marker. Thank you!
