Joining the Lake in the Hills Public Safety Cadets is a great opportunity for young individuals
(ages 14-20) interested in law enforcement careers.
The program offers career preparation in the form of hands-on experience, leadership
training, and community service.
• Real-World Experience: Gain insight into police procedures, investigations, and public
safety operations.
• Mentorship & Networking: Learn directly from experienced officers and build valuable
connections.
• Leadership Development: Enhance communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Training Opportunities: Experience law enforcement in action and learn practical skills.
• Resume & College Applications: Stand out with law enforcement experience when applying
for jobs, college, or future police academies.
• Community Service: Give back to your community while developing responsibility and
discipline.
The Cadet Program promotes personal growth through character development, respect for
the rule of law, physical fitness, good citizenship and patriotism.
Members wear a police-style uniform bearing the department’s patch and Public Safety Cadet
patch.
Meetings are on select Tuesdays at 6 p.m. at the Irv Floress Safety Education Center, 1109
Crystal Lake Road.
