BIGFOOT BASECAMP
Oct. 6 at 6 pm through Oct. 7 at 9 am,
$30 Two Campers, $45 Four Campers
What could be better than a family campout in Lake in the Hills? Join the
Parks and Recreation Department for our Bigfoot Basecamp Weekend.
Enjoy a rare opportunity to sleep under the stars, participate in
Sasquatch-themed outdoor activities, and earn your Bigfoot Hunting
License. Structured like a scientific expedition, activities will include a
Luminaria hot dog dinner with s'mores dessert, creating a Squatch
Survival kit, a nature project, silly campfire stories, and more.
-Check-in on Friday between 6-7 pm
-Dinner at 7:15 pm
-Night activities 8 - 10:30 pm
-Check-out by 9 am on Saturday
Can't stay late to camp? Register for just the activities taking place 7-10:30 pm on Friday night—
$ 15 per person. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED BEFORE OCTOBER 2ND.

HALLOWEEN HOUSE DECORATING CONTEST
Oct. 20-26, 2023 | Registration deadline Oct. 18 by 5 pm
Think you have what it takes to be the spookiest house in Lake in the Hills? Join
the frightful free fun and register your home to win a boo-ti-ful goodie bag and a
winner’s yard sign displaying your achievement. Entries will be judged on
originality, color, lighting, display, and curb appeal. Special lighting and musical
effects are encouraged. Be creative, be spooky, and have fun! Registration
deadline is October 18 by 5:00 p.m. Voting takes place from October 20 through
October 26. Winners will be announced on October 27 via social media.
2 MILE DOG WALK OF THE DEAD
& HOWL-O-WEEN DOGGY DERBY
Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, $10 dog walk only, $15 walk & derby
It’s a spooky and safe Halloween event just for dog lovers! Our two-mile neighborhood
zombie dog walk will begin and end at the small dog area of the Lake in the Hills Bark Park.
Your tail-wagging chum can trick-or-treat at an array of BOOths, show off his/her spooky
sense of style in a costume contest, snap a photo with Mr. Myers, and participate in the
Howl-o-ween Doggy Derby. Register for one or both events.
Registration deadline is 3 days prior to the start of the event
