HERO WEEK - A CELEBRATION FOR OUR VETERANS
Join us for a week of events honoring our local Veterans.

We are honoring our community's Veteran's with a Hero Wall
display in the lobby at Village Hall. We are looking for active or
veteran photos from our community to display for the week,
which will also serve as the backdrop for our Pinning Ceremony
on Friday. Please drop off photos to Village Hall by October 30
attn: Casie Peltz. We will offer a thank you station for the
community to write and post messages of thanks on the wall.
BRUNCH & BRAGS
Wednesday Nov. 8, 2023
Join the LITH Police Department and Parks & Recreation staff
for a fun morning of socializing, sharing stories, friendly
competition, and a light brunch. Anyone 55 years + is welcome
to brunch, bags or both! If you'd like to participate in the bags
competition, please register by November 3. We will pair you
up with a staff member for the tournament. Fun prizes and
bragging rights are on the line!
COLOR GUARD CEREMONY
Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, 9 am
Please join us at 9am around the Village Hall
Veteran's Memorial for a Color Guard ceremony
presented by American Legion Post 1231.
VETERAN'S DAY PINNING CEREMONY
Friday Nov. 10, 2023, 10 am
This beautiful ceremony will be the highlight of our
hero week and will be followed with light
refreshments. Please register for the Gentiva Hospice
Veterans Day Pinning Ceremony for Service Men and
Women and their spouses. The 10am ceremony is
open for all to attend, please register if you'd like to
take part in the pinning ceremony.
OPERATION GRATITUDE| SEWING,
KNIT/CROCHET & BRACELET MAKING
FOR MILITARY & VETERANS
Friday, Nov. 10, 2023 11am - 3 pm
After the pinning ceremony, join us to
support Operation Gratitude by creating
all or any of the following projects: sew a
drawstring bag or cooling tie, knit or
crochet a scarf, create a paracord 'quick
deploy' bracelet or create a beautiful
handmade card.
FOOD DRIVE FOR THE ALGONQUIN / LAKE IN THE HILLS FOOD PANTRY
Be a community hero this week by making a donation to the Algonquin / Lake in the Hills Food Pantry.
Village Hall will be accepting donations all week. Their immediate needs list is located on their website
