HERO WEEK ACTIVITIES
BLOOD DRIVE
Monday, November 4, 4:00 pm-6:00 pm
HERO WALL November 4-11
We are honoring our community's Veteran's with a Hero Wall
display in the lobby at Village Hall. We are looking for active
or veteran photos from our community to display for the
week, which will also serve as the backdrop for our Pinning
Ceremony on Friday. Please drop off photos to Village Hall by
October 30 attn: Casie Peltz. We will offer a thank you
station for the community to write and post messages of
thanks on the wall.
FOOD DRIVE FOR THE ALGONQUIN / LAKE IN THE
HILLS FOOD PANTRY November 4-11
Be a community hero this week by making a donation to the
Algonquin / Lake in the Hills Food Pantry. Village Hall will be
accepting donations all week. Their immediate needs list is
located on their website
CARDS & COFFEE Thursday, November 7, 10:00 am-12:00 pm
Please join us in the Village Hall Community Room for a morning
of cards, cocoa and chatting! Several tables will be set up for
multiple types of games to be played. Some special guests from
the community will be joining us. This is a free, drop-in program.
SOUPER DUPER VETERAN’S PARTY Friday, November 8, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm $5
We want you - to celebrate Veteran's Day with us and our friends at the Cary Park District. We will
enjoy songs from the Cary Canaries as we honor all Veteran's with a musical tribute and short
ceremony followed by some delicious salad, soup, rolls and dessert. We will also play a special 8 game
Bingo. Transportation via the LITH 14 passenger bus. Registration deadline November 1.
VETERAN'S DAY PINNING CEREMONY Monday, November 11, 10:00 am
This beautiful ceremony will be the highlight of our hero week and will be followed with light refreshments.
Please register for the Gentiva Hospice Veterans Day Pinning Ceremony for Service Men and Women and
their spouses. The 10:00 am ceremony is open for all to attend, please register if you'd like to take part in the
pinning ceremony.
