LITH PD INFORMATION
NO PARKING DURING SNOWFALL
From November 1 to April 1, parking a vehicle on any street (any right-of-way line of any street) at any
time of the day or night is prohibited when there is a forecast of snow with an accumulation of 1 inch
or more, or when snow has already fallen and remains on the street, Chapter 41.03.
This measure is essential for several reasons:
1. Plowing Efficiency: Clear streets allow our public works snow plow drivers to quickly and
efficiently remove snow, ensuring our roads are safe and passable.
2. Road Safety: Keeping streets clear of parked vehicles enhances the safety of all road users,
including emergency vehicles, tow trucks, utility vehicles, school buses, and residents who need
to commute safely.
3. Safety of Your Vehicle: Snow-covered roads are potentially dangerous and can cause
unpredictable roadway conditions. Help keep your vehicle safer by keeping it off the street until
the streets are clear and in a better condition for drivers in your neighborhood to navigate.
We urge our community to please be proactive with moving their vehicles off the streets to
ensure everyone's safety and convenience during the winter months. Your cooperation is vital
in helping Public Works maintain clear and safe roads for all.
