CIVILIAN RESPONSE TO ACTIVE SHOOTER EVENTS
(CRASE) TRAINING
Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) Training is a free service that teaches
community members how to prepare, prevent and react during an active shooter event or
mass attack in public places, the workplace, religious buildings, and large events or
gatherings.
The Lake in the Hills Police Department is proud to partner with our community to help
teach and prepare individuals with the tools to survive when every second counts.
Participants will gain a better understanding of law enforcement and first responder
response and learn some insight into what they can do that may save lives during this free,
two-hour training.
CRASE is built on the three principles of avoid, deny, defend. Topics will include: history and
prevalence of active shooter events, civilian response options, medical issues, learning how
to control the body9s physiological response to stressful situations, and more.
You must be 16+ years of age* to register and pre-registration is required. You may
register through Community Pass.
Training sessions will be located at the Irv Floress Safety Education Center, 1109 Crystal
Lake Road.
*Information and topics covered may be considered sensitive or graphic to some attendees,
