The Village of Lake in the Hills Parks & Recreation Department is one of 13 members of the Northern
Illinois Special Recreation Association (NISRA), which provides recreation programs for children, teens,
and adults with disabilities. NISRA offers Special Olympics, cultural arts, baking/cooking, outdoor, social,
and wellness programs along with camps, special events and trips that offer enjoyment for all ability

People for Parks
FOUNDATION
The People for Parks Foundation has been raising money through
their not-for-profit organization since 2008 to support Lake in the
Hills Parks & Recreation programs and facilities. The Foundation’s goal
is to provide funds to purchase equipment, amenities, and to provide
scholarships for program participants to those in need.
