Join us for a FREE educational program presented
by the Alzheimer's Association. For centuries
we've known that the health of the brain and the
body are connected. Now science is able to provide
insights into how to optimize our physical and
cognitive health as we age. Join us to learn about
research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise,
cognitive activity, and social engagement, and use
hands-on tools to help you incorporate these
recommendations into a plan for healthy aging.
History of the Elgin Watch Company

Why did the Elgin National Watch Company go
out of business? Was it management? Was it the
economy? Or the technology? The answer is
complex, and the causes are many. Author Bill
Briska discusses the twists and turns the Elgin
National Watch Company took up until it went
out of business in the 1960s. Minimal walking,
drop off and pick up at the door. Registration
deadline is January 14 and refunds will not be
issued after the deadline. Transportation via
LITH bus to the Cary Park District.

Book: Adult Craft Night. Bring your favorite book,
whether it’s a cherished classic, a beloved novel, or a
treasured journal, and let your imagination run wild as
we transform the cover into a dazzling masterpiece.
We’ll provide a variety of gems, glitter, and decorative
materials to add a personal touch and a little sparkle to
your literary favorite. Sip on refreshments, chat with
fellow book lovers, and create a one-of-a-kind cover
that reflects your style and personality. This program is
possible through a partnership with the Algonquin
Area Public Library. Registration deadline is March 9.
