All adults 21 & over are welcome to join us on the 14
passenger LITH bus (or motorcoach) while we explore
the area around us! We strive to offer a variety of
locations and price ranges for our trips so we co-op
with other area Recreation Agencies. This arrangement
allows for greater group discounts as well as the
opportunity to still offer the trip if one agency did not
meet the minimum number of participants needed. This
means that sometimes the pick up / drop off location
might be in Crystal Lake or Cary instead of LITH. If a
trip fills, please put your name on the waitlist, as trip
tickets per agency may be adjusted based on
enrollment.
Anderson Japanese Gardens & JMK Nippon
Wednesday, September 17, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm $32
Get ready to experience one of North America’s highest quality Japanese
gardens. The Anderson Japanese Garden, founded in 1978 by the
inspired John R. Anderson after his travels to Japan and Portland’s
famous Japanese Garden, is a hidden gem that promises peace, beauty,
and inspiration. We’ll stroll along a scenic, flat path on a guided 1.5-hour
tour, taking in the calming koi ponds, lush greenery, and elegant bridges
that transport you straight to Japan — no passport needed! After soaking
in all that natural beauty, we’ll turn up the heat with a hibachi-style lunch
at JMP Nippon, for a self-pay lunch. Transportation via LITH bus.
Extensive walking involved with this trip. Registration deadline is
September 2 and refunds will not be issued after the deadline.
Milwaukee County Zoo
Thursday, September 25, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm $34
When was the last time you went to the zoo? Do you have an
appreciation for all animals and support conservation of their
diverse habitats? Then you will not want to miss this trip to the
Milwaukee County Zoo. Come see everything from small
mammals to cows to big cats across these beautiful 190 acres. No
food is provided with this trip but the zoo does house a café and
many snack carts available to you throughout your day. This trip
will happen rain or shine. Extensive self-paced walking is involved
with this trip. Registration/cancellation deadline September 11
(spaces permitting). Transportation provided via LITH bus.
